My favourite wine from Le Fete de Saint Jean this year. A great, big fruity hand grande of a wine. It explodes all over the palette with spices, elegant fruit and well balanced, velvety (but nonetheless structured) tannins. Modern Faugeres with a defined link to the tradition and terroir of the region. A serious contender both locally and internationally. I look forward to experiencing it develop over the next few decades. Small production (2000 bottles) and only made in the best years, from selected parcels, so will have to go back for more while it lasts.

Jul 12th, 2015Great example from Languedoc, Faugéres. Simon Coulshaw is a great winemaker and I love his wines, they are really worth a try. This one is a velvet like wine with character. The tannins are smooth but lasts long. We drank it to a grilled lamb filet with a red wine and balsamico based sauce. It was just perfect!
