I need to slow down on my burgundy habit! The 2007's drink so well now that it is hard to resist them when they are around. The Grivot's tannins were resolved, the fruit was dark and rich and the texture was a perfect medium. The Mogneard last week was more exciting, but this had undeniable breed.

Loving the old school style from Domaine Jean Grivot. Lots of enticing secondary notes singing through. #delish

Brickish rim. The nose on this is stunning. Stunning! It's perfume and poetry. Rose petals, raspberries and wild strawberries, forest floor, underbrush, earth and mint. A romp through a fairy tale woodland thicket. On the palate, it's elegant and supple. There is fore-palate acidity and plenty of focus, this NSG is lovely. Just lovely.

Lovely wine. Corals with earthy tones, mineral finish.

Great to find a Burgundy on a list that is decently priced and ready to drink. Floral and dried leave notes intertwine with red and dried cherry, cranberry fruit in the nose. Supple and pretty with an elegant edge for a Nuits. Earth, mineral and forest floor support red fruit tones. Missing just a touch of density and complexity to merit a better score but it is a throughly enjoyable bottle.

This soars from the glass with layered aromas of pure cherry juice, forest strawberry, in-bloom rose petals, coffee beans, forest floor vegetation and minty liquorice. The palate is intense and invigorating, dominated by cherry fruit and dry raspberry, with a surprisingly high level of focus, midpalate stuffing and complexity in the context of 2007. Lingers with raspberry-acidic lift, echoing with dusty tannins. Simply beautiful, ageing visibly only the very bricking rim.
1 hour gentle decant. 2016-22+

2007 Burgundies are just unbelievable now and this stands out for its transparency and complexity. Deep dusty cherry aromas with some earthy stems and minerality. But what stands out about Grivot's 07's is the very fresh, bright, accessible acidity.
