Colour is poppy red with orange hue, like a typical Lambrusco colour and clarity but with an orange tone. On the nose, the watermelon aroma jumps out immediately. Then stone fruit and rose petals follow up. On the palate, it's still watermelon characteristic first. Then red fruit and earthiness. I love its notable structure and end palate for a rosé! What bothers me a wee bit is the slightly bitter taste on the end-palate. It's a taste that I get a lot from dry Malvasia. Will I buy another Domain Lafond rosé again? No. It's good but the 3 (of my personal) top rosé from ex-Yugoslavia are better. But I'm certainly encouraged to try more Tavel!
