Bin end rosé day, the final bottles on another of our longer term aging experiments on value wines.
Nose has ripe Clementine, stainless steel, dried cranberry, dried strawberry and (minor) glazed carrot.
Palate has dried orange, dried raspberry, bitter green herbs, cranberry and peach skin.
A tired bottle, medium finish, some acidity left but not much.
(50% Merlot / 50% Cabernet Franc)

Jul 25th, 2020Getting close to the end of our value rosé aging experiment. This was an old favorite of ours, used to buy at least two cases on every release. It was very fruit forward, and at $8 it was easy on the wallet, perfect summer sipper. Alas our palates have changed over the years, and we stopped buying this in 2015. Fortunately we have plenty of other bottles to distract us.
(50% Merlot / 50% Cabernet Franc)
The color is showing some age, a very nice copper color at this stage.
Nose is a bit steely-mineral with mashed cranberry-raspberry, more towards the cranberry side.
Palate is lighter in acidity than I recall other bottles, we're certainly at the end of the life of this one. Orange peel with light strawberry is prominent.
