Domaine Michel Rebourgeon
Bourgogne Côte d'Or Pinot Noir
Gorgeously red fruited nose. Cherries galore. Lovely hit of earth. Very pretty and smells silky. Palate is just terrific. Juicy, pure and super clean. Loads of sour and red cherries and a baby Pommard vibe here as it finishes very stoney. Lovely texture and a hint of rusticity. Just a great humble very satisfying wine. Long and juicy.

May 6th, 2021First time tasting this from Rebourgeon. Awesome nose. Such pure, layered and tangy fruit. Soil tones. Stoniness. So clean. Spice as well and very refined. Juicy and clean with ample, luscious fruit and incredible refined tannins. Great length. Beautiful balance, sap and purity. Juicy tannins that are very high quality. Really terrific. As it airs nose becomes more mineral and the palate gets imbued with stoniness. This is super impressive. Really dense fruit and so refined and long for the level. So so pure. Almost a 9.3.

Oct 9th, 2022What's makes for sappy wine? In a sea of a thousand definitions, mine has (with pure blind assumption) been those moments when the fruit is so there, it's intrinsic and not a reference or reflection. Like a concentrated sap of the plant. Essence. Deep to the core, with texture and a sense of youthful juiciness. Cherry Sap is what comes to mind in the 2019 Rebourgeon.
Cherry sap with beautiful peripheries. Cedar, coffee, cocoa, salty minerality. Behaves well, sits pretty and perched in its little place.
So substantial - thick, milky, like some sap. Or whatever this is.

Sad, thin wine. Probably a bad bottle, though.

Oct 2nd, 2021Nice Pinot noir but probably just a bit below my expectations. Some nice dark cherry notes, but it just doesn’t all tie together for whatever reason…doesn’t have the acid and precision that I was hoping for.
