Very impressed with this Napa style (but technically Central Coast grapes) Claret, containing representatives of every Bordeaux varietal! It is rich with dark cherry, mocha, and dusty tannins.

Oct 5th, 2020Upon further smelling/tasting, I think it was corked. Red fruits and a bit of briny-ness on the nose. Medium body, tart red fruits give acid up front, peppery tannins come on and linger on. Nothing special about it, but pleasantly drinkable.
Four Bordeaux varieties work as a team in this bottling to deliver aromas of blackberry jam, caramel, roasted cocoa, peppercorn and dark soil. There's great cohesion to the palate, where black cherry, hints of root beer and purple flowers ride buoyant acidity and chalky tannins.

What a great red wine with steak! Sunday funday is better with this wine. Merlot tasting but not too overdone.
