2016 tasted 2020. Dark chocolate on the nose with some notes of chalk. Cassis and raspberry fruit on the front — but the fruit isn’t very intense. Medium tannic structure with a lot of calcaire incorporated into the soft mouth feel. This is a delicate wine all the way to the end. Lingering finish with an aftertaste that reminds of apricots.

Really, people, this is one of the best New Zealand reds I’ve ever tasted. I should have paid the customs fees and taken a bunch home with me.
