Very nice to try one of these with some nice age on it. Purchased directly from the winery last year. I believe this was the first harvest after the full set of Pinot plantings were done. Definitely slightly secondary by now, but still very refined with great hints of dark red fruit, excellent linearity and length, and great earthiness with just enough acid.

I love Willamette Pinot because it’s so unique. It’s generally less fruity and obvious than California, but softer and more approachable in its youth than Burgundy. This is no exception. The nose is super fresh and a little tart. Cherry cola and bubble gum. The palate is earthier than the nose lets on with moderately high acid. I even get some black pepper and rubber. It definitely keeps you coming back for another sip.
