A little past its prime, unfortunately (flavor profiles are a bit flat). Still, its quality is clear. Notes of anise and black berry (which is kind of surprising), are followed up by plum and a trace of tobacco. Very good, but probably better a year or two ago.

Sep 29th, 2018Probably one of the most complicated yet smooth wines I've ever had. It has a bright, juicy black cherry base, bright overtones of lavender, and hints of stony soil, all wrapped in warm oaky vanilla. Like a great guest, it is smooth as silk, and leaves without a trace. A new fave.

Jul 22nd, 2017Very very smooth $18 rioja. Dark cherry and unsweetened chocolate, with a sort of rocky backbone, with oak really nicely blended in. Some pepper and anise on finish, like dried leaves. Maraschino cherries on the nose. Medium to light body
