How can you say no to morning tea when it involves Christmas mince pies and NZ Pinot Noir 😋
We popped up to see some family friends the other day and after a few minutes this little number from Framingham Wines was pulled out (thanks for sharing Bill!). ‘Nobody’s Hero’ 2018 Pinot Noir is made from Marlborough fruit.
On the back label it says it was matured in French oak, “seduced by the steady thrum of bass, guitar and a kick drum”. So I wonder if they in fact played music to the maturing wine. I have come across a few wineries who do this.
In the glass it’s a rather light looking cherry coloured Pinot. The nose evokes thoughts of fresh raspberries and glacé cherries. It’s definitely very fruit forward. While in the mouth it’s downright smashable with plenty of berries, some caocao at the back and is perfect for summertime drinking. We could even imagine it being slightly chilled on a really hot day.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
