This wine continues to improve with age. A bit sharp and tightly wound when I first tried this vintage nearly ten years ago, the fruit is now nicely blended and mellowed. Dark cherry, raspberry, plum, and ripe strawberry, with some spice on the palate. Medium plus tannins, medium plus alcohol, and high acid. Finally living up to its label.

Jun 5th, 2022Big and tart starting off with cranberry and strawberry. The cigar box comes through so strong in the middle that you’d think someone was smoking nearby. Lots of leather and minerals present as well. The finish has chewy tannins and acid to spare. After six years I think this wine could still use a couple more years in the bottle to smooth out a bit.

Jul 30th, 2018Big and tart with a cranberry nose and cranberry on the palate. Also in the palate you get more red fruit, leather, and cigar box. Chewy tannins and zippy acid finish it off with that cranberry lingering. It will be interesting to see where this wine is 10 years from now.

Mar 21st, 2018Barnyard funk and cigar box nose. Tart fruit, minerals and spice on the palate. Chewy tannins and moderate acid. Should continue to age well.

Jan 28th, 2017Big, brash and bright. Meaty Malbec with peppery Cabernet and tangy Petit Syrah seem to all vie for your attention. I wonder if this will all blend together a little better with age. Moderate plus tannins and acid. Good wine now for a steak and would hold up to BBQ.

Dec 9th, 2016The nose is floral and fruity, which is very different from what you get once it is in your mouth. The beefy Malbec blends nicely with the signature Galante cabs, which are mineral and pepper dominant. It finishes dry and tannic. A nicely balanced, full bodied red blend.
