Eclipse Cephalonia Mavrodaphne
Not too dry and really smooth. Big, dark fruit. No clue how I acquired this, but I would definitely like more.

Jun 9th, 2018So Greece continues to be a huge blind spot on my wine radar. I taste great wines, and afterwards I just seem to forget that they exist. So when I see something on a restaurant list, it is a bit of a logical choice to reacquaint myself. Mavrodaphne is the variety, Kefalonia, one of the Ionian islands the region. Very dark in colour, spiciness, blackberries, and an inky depth. The palate is voluptuous, rich but not too intense. It does demand food though, so pair it up with some nice aged beef!
