Dark, blood red. Black currant, alcohol nose - hint of chocolate liquorice babies. Heavier than expected. Tobacco notes. Long finish and robust acidity suggest it might be better in a few years but stands up well to a beetroot and horseradish gnocchi and, in fact, mellowed out on the second glass...
