Gundlach Bundschu

2009. Just did some digging in my Old German dictionary and it turns out that Gundlach Bundschu means "young, massive." How fitting. Eight years in and this wine leans primary in a big way. Delicious flavor complexity with great overall balance. Fruit, tannins, and acids are all in sync. Rich body and notable depth. This wine could go five to eight years longer, maybe more. Went great with pan-seared ribeyes and spuds. (Had spinach in the pan until the cap of the garlic powder pranked me. A light sprinkle turned into spinach murder. What a mess. This tasty wine kept us all focused on what matters.)

Awesome smooth wine. Sonoma cab characteristic w smooth fruit flavors. Drank so easy. Plus point is that the bottle is a artwork for keeps!

GB 2009 is a consistent good drink. Smooth with a good finish. Flavors that enhance the night. Sort of like a perfect night with great friends.

2009 vintage. Tons of black fruit and coco notes. Velvety soft tannin. Had it with rosemary filet mignon and wine was overpowered.
