Rioja from a lesser known region in southern Rioja Alta called Miranda de Ebro in the province of Burgos which is actually a Ribera del Deuro province. Maybe the only bottle of this in the USA, I brought this back from Spain last October. Some green notes, very herbal, loads of dill, olive paste, which likely comes from the American oak. This might be from before the new owners as from what I know the new owners have taken a modern approach to the style and this is not that. Herbal, bright and lifted red fruit and high acidity. Red licorice nibs and tart cherry. This took about 4 hours decanting to relent a deeper expression. A much cooler section of Rioja, this tastes like a cooler climate expression than you typically experience from #Rioja. 95% #tempranillo 5% #mazuelo
