The darker, more herbal side of Hartford pinot noir is on display here. A smoky, wet earth nose with notes of mushroom and black fruits. The plate is lush but also lean with lots of acidity and very soft tannins. Earth and juicy fruit battle to a draw at this point in the wine’s life making it a wonderful compliment to a wide variety of foods, in this case, pork chops. Very good.
