100% Tintorera (Alicante Bouche). Extremely dark, near black purple from core to edge. Abundant nose of herby black raspberry, and plum bread. Full-bodied palate echoes the nose adding layers of black cherry, marzipan, and a hint of licorice on the lengthy finish. Medium minus acidity balanced by medium dusty tannins. A yummy introduction to the most widely vinted tinturier from its home in Spain. Soft enough for slightly spicy fare, but with enough structure for casseroles or medium cuts of beef. Don’t wear white though! Drink now.

Dark opaque violet color.
First time venturing into tintorera,
Sour, touch of herbs, almost medicinal on the nose, dry on the tongue.
Medium bodied with nutty, herbaceous, and chocolatey notes.
My first tintorera.
Paired with steak, brussel sprouts, and potatoes
