Very dark crimson, almost black. Opulent aromas of cassis, mulberry, herbs and earth. Same opulence on the lush rich full bodied palate with notes of milk chocolate and black currant finishing with fine resolved and polished tannins. This to me is a typical high quality Napa Valley Cabernet - so fluid, generous and velvety in my limited experience with the genre.

Branching out from Burgundy tonight. Great wine. Not particularly complex from my perspective but fully integrated with fine tannins and great dark fruit.

2006 in 2019. Dry black cherries and blackberries. Cinnamon. Full mouthfeel moderate tannins. Delicious counterpoint to the BV Tapestry (a little lighter and less fruit forward with stronger tannin).

Perfumed nose of lavender, mint and saddle. Deep purple color. Milk chocolate, tobacco, hoisin and asian spice on the palate. Finish is led by dusky tannins and a bit of green bell pepper. Plenty of time left here.
