Capitel de Roari Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend

First part of our vacation/2-yr wedding anniversary here in Alaska has been nothing short of spectacular. Lovely resort, highs in the low 60s, and gorgeous scenery!

The resort has quite a few dining options, most boasting very impressive wine lists. We had a simple meal tonight and was wanting to branch out, so I went with an Italian. My knowledge is so minimal on Italian wines, but this was very easy going. Kirsch, cedar underbrush, raspberries were the main aromatics. Front and mid palate were fairly thin, but a punch came with the finish. Dusty raspberries, herbs, and a small hint of fig. Needs about 5-years to even out.

Deep and dense. Plum, black fruits and graphite. Delicious.

Lighter than most Amarone I enjoy, but very approachable price! Great for Amarone Virgins.

Modern style, but it still needs time...

Medium body, a nice slightly cedar note right at the open.

Nice late arriving dried fruit, interesting slight bitter notes as an introduction.

Goes surprisingly well with blue corn flakes.

Full and rich with dried fruits ending in some savory notes. For an Amarone still pretty approachable but still needs decanting.

Nice balance of dark fruit and tannins. Not too jammy.

Pizza with Brooke - delish & I would drink it again.
