This was darn near perfect on the nose, had great texture and a natural affinity for the porcini pasta. It also had an austere mean streak on the finish that I am not sure will ever mellow... We drank the bottle with pleasure none the less.

2011. Unripe, very twiggy and a rubber note that overpowers the finish.

Region: burgandy / subregion: Côte du Beaune / appellation: volnay / producer: Maison Champy. I didn’t get the “earthy” Pinot I expected. Tasted like a watery cherry
