Markus Molitor
Haus Klosterburg Pinot Noir Rosé
My first German 🌹 and from a produce of great Riesling.
The color is not very appealing - gold/yellow hues. I smell rose hips, tangerine, red grapefruit/pith.
Nice weight and texture for a rose, I tried it at 19c and the acids over dominated, now after being open a few hours and chilled to 9c I can enjoy texture, flavor and then acid and a slight effervescence.
The citrus notes carry through to the tongue, softened with honey. It's a good balance. Unlike other old world or new world rosé- something about it reminds me of Grüner veltlinnger, maybe the medium length herbal finish.
The longer the bottle is open the more it is showing and going on me- which is a trait I found of Markus Molitor riesling as well.
