Growing up in Washington, I've always been skeptical of midwestern wine. Typically I find it syrupy or dull. Who knew Michigan could make a truly fun red? This was lovely next to an appetizer salad with prosciutto last week.

Didnt think Michigan could do reds. Maryland did me otherwise. Excellent. Drinkable.

Rich blackberry and black currant, with a bit of the barnyard on the nose and a subtle herbal note on the palate. Fairly tannic right now so a few years should see an even better wine and a higher score. One of the very best Michigan Cab Francs I've had, which should be no surprise, since it was made by Jim Lester.
