This a very modern Rioja Reserva, rich and powerful. Deep red in color almost black, lovely nose, black current, black cherries, vanilla, cedar wood, prunes and coffee, full body, round rich and smooth with lively acidity and well balanced tannins, long chewy finish. A true surprise as in the past this wine needed a longer cellaring period to be approachable. My score 88, drink to 2020.
