Dec 30th, 2020Highly rated wine by a number of the major rating houses. $18.99 at Costco. Really a great wine for the price. Classic Rioja profile with sour cherry, black plum, blood orange and wet decaying Fall leaves. There’s a slight balsamic note and the dill and vanilla from the American oak stick out. A lot going on for not a lot of money here. Delicious wine.

Jun 4th, 2020A bit subdued, but well-made exhibiting a classic old school Rioja profile. Cherry type notes are balanced by savory characteristics of herbs, spices, and vanilla.

Apr 11th, 2020Bold, deep ruby, very acidic and tannic. It almost wants to show fruit but it is very subdued by excess volatile acidity... overwhelming taste and smell of nail polish ruins it at first. However it opens up in time and gives tastes of dates, dried fruit and a longer finish. Definitely decant for a couple of hours!
