2009 from magnum. 100-yr vines of Carignan. Although it's not the best vintage of this wine I've tasted it's still really good. Raspberry, plum, prune, tart cherry, red currant, dried herbs, black tea, underbrush. What it lacks in elegance it makes up for in personality.

Another standout from Maxine. This wine was compelling from a region in France that does not receive a ton of press. Again carignon is the star and over delivers ripe raspberry flavors. Very enjoyable.
