Had the pleasure to taste the 13’ bottling of this Petite Sirah leading blend about a year ago, and this time around it’s better than I can remember.
The delicious black and blue fruits are bold but not really jammy. Graphite, cedar, dark chocolate, and hint of cigar box. Deep and rich palate, with harmonious finish.
Has the stuffing to improve with further aging.

Sep 15th, 2020Medium body satin smooth/flower bomb, good tannins and a pepper finish 2013 vintage. Great sans food but seems like the body would work with a Asian, bar b cue or fish entree. It’s a blend!!!!!

Jun 7th, 2019Irresistible nose of blackberry, blueberry, cedar, chocolate mint, fungus, and hint of BBQ smoke. Feels slightly ripe on the palate, but balanced nicely by medium to high acidity. Polished round tannins.
The 2nd vintage release from Merryvale, Forward Kidd features Petite Sirah (52%) with Malbec, CS, Syrah, Petite Verdot, and CF round out the rest of the blend. 22 months in 35% French oak. Not quite Profile, but a beautiful blend nevertheless.
