To me the ‘02 North Coast vintage was one of the best early drinkers I can recall. Just amazing vibrancy from the top producers. At age 17 this was very nice but lacked pop and fell off obviously on the mid palate. Drink now. Pop and pour.

Somewhat port-like and certainly hearty, but with a sliver of cheese and some Mahler in the background, I'm channeling my inner Peter Seychelles. For Napa Cab, hard to beat.
