Pasqua
Ripasso Valpolicella Superiore Corvina Blend
Plum skins, round. More of a wet red (even though described as dry) than what I prefer, but quite tasty upon first sips. 13.5% ABV Would love to drink it next to a big bowl of bucatini drenched in parmigiana Reggiano.

Feb 15th, 2018Great little find from Trader Joe’s (and a bargain at $8). Nose hits first with cedar and soft soil, then the fruit rolls over with everything from black currant to red pear. Ink, wet wood, cigar box and cranberry also linger about. The palette is where the fruit really shines through. Ripe blackberries, currants, raisins and sautéed pears. The earth is subtle and silky, with nice cedar notes and a bit of bushy bramble-ness (probably some stems in the crush). A lot going on for a little.
