Texas wine. I can't remember the blend and the label doesn't tell me. But it's Tempranillo based. Tastes like a Rhone blend to me. It's a big wine by Texas standards (yes I get the irony) because most Texas wines I've tried are lighter. But this is still pretty light on its feet. Shows bright acidity, but is also framed by round tannin and a touch of oak. Cigar box, blue red fruit, currant, and a touch of mocha.

Mar 7th, 2017Great little wine, probably should've waited a year before opening, but it's still enjoyable. Didn't hold up to my putanesca sauce, but would've been great with something like balsamic strawberries. :)
And no, no I am not good when it comes to tasting notes, but I do know what I like!
