Nettles and raspberries on the nose. I wasn’t sure I was going to like this when I sniffed it out of the bottle. A solid wall of red fruit on the front of the palate — bit it’s not syrupy — and it’s just the right intensity to offset any off-notes on the nose. The tannic structure is smooth, but the intensity drops off mid-palate on the way to the back of the mouth. Lots of high notes on the finish. It does a triple backflip on my pallet, and then it leaves me asking “what just happened there on my tongue?” I think this is a lovely wine.
