Smells like a more expensive pinot with really classic sour cherry coming through. The palate has loads of vanilla and and the fruit moves from sour to a more sweet strawberry flavor. This is a very quaffable wine for the price but don't expect anything you haven't seen before.

No offense to the producer!: great with food -- beautiful color, nice easy flow, yet the jam may punish you a bit at the end -- so please do it with some stronger flavors of prosciutto, bacon, nuts, mild marinara.

Winemaker is Ross Cobb of Hirsch as of 2011 vintage. Grapes sourced from his contacts w vineyards in Anderson Valley & Sonoma Coast. This pinot ROCKS at $18 in a way pretty much no other sub-$20 pinot does - buy by the case.

Dusty, shroomy, herbal and tannic on the tongue with fleshy, but delicate fruit.

Lighter brighter. Good acid but balanced. Cali style, not funky like the old vintage.

Very nice Pinot noir, a little bite at first but once you get used to it, the wine is flavorful and nice with other strong foods like chili.
