Recently picked up at Renegade Wine in Santa Barbara. A touch cloudy with a dark garnet red. A bit of stewed fruit on the nose, followed up by earthiness and a hint of baking spices. Medium body with medium minus tannins (4/10). Similar notes on the palate and smooth rounded finish. Drink now.

This is Bearwallow Pinot from Anderson Valley. Whereas the previous Kanzler was all about power and fruit, this is all about terroir. Black cherry and some dirty raspberry are very present, combined with a little bit of eucalyptus and allspice. However the notes of the soil are very present, and are really the backbone of this Pinot. Very good, but stark contrast from any of the other Pinots in this 2015 lineup in my opinion. Still damn good with dinner and beyond!
