Peter Barlow Cabernet Sauvignon

2008 Great Wine, layered, old world, really great finish.

Stunning find in Pennsylvania a couple months ago. If you guys do not know about the Peter Barlow bottling it is a part of Rustenberg's site specific bottlings. This is made up of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged for 24 months in 64% new French oak barrels.
Super dark ruby core with garnet edges. Really stinky with some dirty cellar notes and South African funk on the nose. A bit of bacon, mushrooms and forest floor too. Balanced acidity with medium plus tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Layered palate with tons of earthiness and dark berries. A touch green in the undertone. Long and dry finish. Drink till 2023.

Mature rounded tannins. Perfect time to drink this bottle. Classic cassis and green bell pepper with a full peppery finish. Superb.

Intense aromas and color, Black fruits, licorice and fine grained well integrated tannins with a chewy finish. Near its peak form! Superb long finish.

Outstanding cab from RSA. Cigar box and abundant black fruit. Full bodied. Top marks.

Heading out to Santa Barbara next month for 3 days. Can you recommend a few great vineyards to visit for a tasting? I'm a big fan of seasmoke and Paul Lato. Looks like you tried a lot of wine. Thanks.

A special wine with a great story; Cab Franc qualities: earthy, structured tannins, full body, really enjoyable.
