It's hard to know what to do with this. It's good but I expected more. It's essentially 2:1 cab franc:sauvignon with a splash of carmenere. The nose is muted, and what's there is more cabernet sauvignon than cabernet franc. Medium mouth feel. There are no vegetal notes sometimes present with cab franc, but curiously the finish was the most memorable and prominent. It took me most of the bottle to place it, but there is a distinct, lingering aftertaste reminiscent of yellow grapefruit pith. Certainly not bad, better with a good meal, but could have been better.

Had at Texas De brazil
Region: Chile, South America, Maipo Valley

Varietal: Bordeaux Red Blends
Style: Big & Bold

A powerful red, with a surplus of dark plum, blackberry and dark currant flavors that are pure and focused, wrapped in layers of vanilla and cream. The long finish is filled with dark chocolate and wild herb notes. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère.

93 Points

Wine Spectator

Dry, leafy, herbal aromas come with berry power and spice. Triple C stands for Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon as well as Carmenère. This is a wide load on the palate, with smooth tannins and savory, roasted berry flavors that lead to a finish boasting chocolate, leather, spice and baked berry notes. Drink through 2017.
