Aug 15th, 2015Gobelsburger has lots to offer for it's modest $13-15 price tag. The Kamptal Grüner Veltliner 2013 has an attractive nose of lychee, honeydew melon, pear and just a touch of matchstick. Melon notes really come through on the palate, with bright, zingy acidity and a nice savory edge—fresh marjoram, lime zest and a spicy hit of white pepper. What's not to love? Perfectly with spring dishes, think asparagus, dishes with lots of fresh herbs, and salads featuring arugula or mesclun.
