Let this puppy breathe foreveeeer. The first night we couldn't finish a glass, recorked and tried the following night - less acidic and softer.

I'm open to trying their other wines, but as far as this one I'll stick to the New Zealands and Chiles. Weird aroma.

Cat pee. Some people say they get it from New Zealand Sauv Blancs, but I do not. South Africa on the other hand, cat pee every time. Obviously not cat pee to the point I can't drink it - which is good because I really like Sauv Blanc - but it's undeniably there. The nose also shows a flinty graphite along with papaya and mango. The palette has the prerequisite biting acidity I crave in SBs, but although the same fruits are confirmed from the nose, they're fairly muted and rather fleeting. I have generally been disappointed with the Spier label - it's inexpensive, certainly, but also cheap.
