The Cleaver Red Blend is 74% Zinfandel, 15% Syrah and 11% Petite Sirah from Amador County, California. The wine is made using grapes from Renwood's own vineyard as well as other old-vine vineyards nearby. The wine is aged 16 months in 30% new oak. begins with a pleasing aroma full of cola, a little spice and some dark fruit. The wine tastes simple but good with a smooth and soft texture plus lots of chocolate (and a little black pepper) to go with the blackberry and plum fruit. It’s a nice daily drinker to go with burgers, steak, ribs and pork chops.
