Tinto de Rulo
Pipeño País
Classic Pais nose, with fermented grape leaves and bacon fat.
This was liberated from the Santiago wine club in Chile.
Lively acidity! Pomegranate seed, cherry skin, hints of apple cider vinegar (subtle acid, in a good way). White pepper berries. If this saw any oak, it shows itself on the rear, only for a moment.
Worth the tipple.

Strong forest floor, sharp, cedar spice, cloves, a bit of citrus, bunches of ripe strawberries.
Light and spicy, dense and lush, really quite surprising and lovely.
A bit of cola, mixed berries, nice acidity and spice balance off well.

Oct 30th, 2018Looked like it was going to be light but the funky nose let me know it would be a sharp, almost meaty wine.
