Traphiche is a go-to for affordable, quality Mendoza Malbec (Their Cabernet Sauvignon is also delicious). Don't be intimidated by it's dark colour; it's very smooth, and only around $12 CAD.

Malbec was introduced into Argentina in the later 19th century, when later-President Sarmiento had then imported by a French agronomist. The grape was rediscovered a century later when the Argentine wine industry began to focus on export.

"Trapiche Reserve is elaborated with grapes sources from the foothills of the Andes Mountains, where the combination of the altitude and generous sunshine produces concentrated, aromatic fruit. The ageing in oak barrels during 9 months adds finesse, harmony and complexity."

"A Malbec, with beautiful, deep red color with violet hues. Sweet aromas of blackberries and plums with an elegant touch of smoke and vanilla. Velvety texture and a sweet, long aftertaste. Ideal to serve with cheeses, red meats, mushrooms, stew and with typical Argentinian 'asado'."

A nice, rich, flavor. It's very smooth and has a good sourish taste. I would recommend.
