I love their Petite Verdot but you MUST let it age. My recommendation is 8 years. We drank this one a little early and it showed.

Paul Shaffer 7th Edition. Perfect time to open this. 5 years in the bottle made this something special. The nose is dense with black raspberries, blackberry cream, damp violets, black licorice, clove, mocha, peppercorn, and crushed stone. The palate is electric. Bright acidity with fine grained tannins towards the back of your palate. The mid palate showcases amazing underripe black fruits and a velvety chocolate transferring into the finish. You’re left with bright but dark fruits and a firm minerality on the finish. Everything in balance and working with each other. It seems when you leave Petit Verdot to sit for half a decade, it shows up in a big way. Virginia has this dialed in. Way more acidic structure than the flabby California styles that are out there.
