Excited to check in on this! Harmonious, lengthy, and heady with its perfume. Great memories of tastings with Bobby at my old job, this cuvée named after his son was always a highlight. To me it really focuses on the synergy that old vine Grenache and Mourvèdre can have. There’s a perfect balance of soaked red and black fruits, garrigue, and an exotic spice savoriness that I just love. Structural compliment is there, with the Mourvèdre’s tannic backbone countering the mid-palate weight of the Grenache. As with many 2012s in the Rhône, this has such a great personality, a match of elegance and richness that bring so much joy in the glass. Perfect for turkey day!
