This would have to be one of my favourite picks for #thetcwineclub to date. It's a wine that really impressed me from the first to very last sip. It comes from the Alicante region in Spain and is made from the Monastrell grape (the name Mourvèdre goes by in Spain). I loved this description on The Wine Gallery tasting note; 'Tragolago is a slang word meaning 'long drink'. It's a smashable, thirst-quenching red'. Hear hear!

We decided to team this moderately tannic wine up with some Great Southern, Plantagenet pork covered with spicy szechuan from Coles - perfect match!

Opaque garnet colour on the eye - I love these deep, dark looking reds - so sultry! It has a rather Old World rustic nose with notes of stewed plums, oak and farminess yet an air of freshness. It's super smooth on the palate with a lovely fruity character. Hints of cherry, red liquorice, plums and dark chocolate stood out for me. Lovely long finish too!

If you want to find out more about The TC Wine Club and join me tasting new wines each month, check this out > https://travellingcorkscrew.com.au/wine-club/

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine

Huge berry and fruit taste up front. Enough acid to make it food friendly and some light tannins. Very impressed with the flavors of this wine. This is my first Monastrell varietal and I will definitely be looking for more!

#Wine First off this wine has some strong aromas going on! I honestly felt like I was going to have to let it breathe for a while, but to my surprise once I took a sip! There was no need for it. Medium-light body, tannins, chewy, some leather, but enough fruits to come forth, and give it some variety with a dry after taste. It was a cheap wine and just a fun buy overall. Not in my top favorites, but I wouldn’t mind having it again with friends at an outdoor bbq ✨

#Pairing I had this with a steak salad. Not too shabby! ✨
