From Spain's newest DO Sierra de Salamanca, a Rufete/Tempranillo blend. Rustic tannins, meaty/bloody nose, with a sort of ping pong between anise and mentholated blackberry. Needs a fatty steak. I'd love to taste older examples

A complex nose with black fruit, leather, and a bit of earthiness. Light on the palate but an immediate bite of black pepper tannins and a good bit of acid, but then smooths out with the underlying black fruits. Pleasantly surprised by a bottle that we're not quite sure where it came from!

Totally fine. Zippy and bright. Got better as the night went on.

Inky black, tobacco and spice, chocolate covered blueberries, gripping tannins that mellow with air, rich fruit, juicy, powerful.
