Nonexistent tannins but still and tasty blend tasting Malbec. Not our usual style but truly deserving of a high rating.

Well, Camus Vineyards has created something really cool. Although it has that Camus flavor of a sweet cab merlot blend, it is true Malbec from Argentina. This is the 6th year - 6th voyage from Argentina to California where RED SCHOONER VOYAGE 6 is born and raised in French Oak barrels for 15 months. The result is a jammy sweet Malbec from Argentina made in California. What a concept. It is a bit too sweet for me, but pretty good wine. Butterscotch, dark fruits, and earthtones are brought into a semi dry finish. This is one of those wines you need to drink from a magnum wine glass. It would go great with a big pasta and meatball dinner and a beautiful partner to share it with.
