Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend

Incredible drinking experience. My first Amarone. Smooth and pruney. Excellent with food (several types of pasta and sauces) and alone.

Smells of earth and mushroom; light tannins; light body ; subtle earthy flavor; not as flavorful as hoped

Blend of Corvina (60%), Rondinella (30%) and Molinara (10%). Dark ruby/purple color with a garnet rim. Ripe red and black fruit aromas with notes of herbs and spices. Flavors of ripe cooked black cherries, cocoa powder, roasted herbs, orange zest and a hint of pepper spice. Long and slightly sweet finish. Mild tannins and acidity. Velvety texture and quite bright. Not amarone -raisin tasting but a nice red. Not sure how much $

Boca: Seco, Acidez M, Tanino M, Alcohol Alto.

Very well balanced. Prunes and currant notes stand out in this excellent Amarone.
