Karasi Areni Noir
Hugely interesting. Areni Noir grape. Amphora aged (Karasi is Armenian for Amphora apparently) Wild and spicy. Bitter cherry in full flow. All reigned in quite beautifully though. Somewhere between a ripe Pinot and a Northern Rhone Syrah. Classy

Apr 22nd, 2016Oh yeah. Armenia rocks. Berries and smoke and leather and earth. Touch of oak.

Mar 10th, 2016Qite different from what I recall in the 2012, this is nonetheless as sophisticated. Seemingly with less oak than I recall, this has what I'd call a purposeful and delightful rusticity with bright red fruits, dried tobacco leaf and decided earthiness.

Feb 15th, 2016My first Armenian wine, and it's quite tasty. Lots of fruit and earth, definitely red meat friendly.

Oct 24th, 2015Full of intrigue. Lifted black fruits. Really spicy and fragrant. High acid, but balanced with a lovely earthy undertone. Lots to like.
