Quintessentially smooth with strong fruit, thresholds of acid and tannin but no characteristic of restraint. This is a wine that seduces even if consumed alone. The age need not accumulate further, drink if you find one ASAP — 7 years ago

With no perceptive barrier between the warmth of the atmosphere, the spice carried by the winds of Raja Ampat, Indonesia, and the sirens call bouquet of this wine--vitality and strength are resonant. The power of the nose and the follow through of palette lead none to believe that it had spent more than two decades in bottle. A treasure, floating in through the Archipelago... 1995 vintage — 8 years ago

Incredible nose, as expected, bright fruit with robust package of spice and Christmas time. The finish is not as long as the caliber of the nose and bouquet, but not underwhelming. — 8 years ago

Awakened by a crisp, cold bite. Is that the welcoming salutations of the wet NYC streets greeting the new year, or this incredible Riesling? Both. Exactly what I need. — 8 years ago

Though tamed by age, ruby fruit comes through plumes of cured tobacco and shrewd vanilla melodies. Tannins remain strong and elevate the finish, which is longer than expected for a wine without any definite sharp edges or exclamation marks. This wine is unquestionably full and robust despite sighs of deserved exasperation. — 8 years ago

Simply the most interesting Champagne I’ve ever had. This is a perfect example of how Champagne is an overlooked niche, hardly referred to as actually wine. The 9 yrs of bottle conditioning produces a truly curious and exciting experience steeped in Amber. — 7 years ago

Describing this wine is merely a distribution of the lexicon for 'darkness'.
Licorice, Currant, Blackberries and dark chocolate all about out of the glass with a petrol vigor that would be emblematic of the waft from a VIP box at the Coliseum

Beyond it's years. Spiced earthen tones blot out the fruit, yielding a warm and long finish, harkening back to Napa simplicity. — 8 years ago
