It's been awhile since I've posted but maybe New Year's Eve can be a new start. More fruit than expected but, boy, the tannins were still gripping. Nice to be back. — 8 years ago
The "unique" factor is alone worth a try. I don't think I've seen 80/20 blend with Viognier being Syrah's dominant partner. Good news is that the wine's rich and full of tree fruit. As full bodied I can recall in some time. — 9 years ago
Wasn’t sure about what to expect. Vancouver Island wines are rather rare off the island. This was a lovely accompaniment to crab & shrimp cakes and scallops. Nice Pinot Noir fruit and acidity. — 6 years ago
So pleasantly surprised that this '02 was still lively and full flavoured.it could have gone terribly wrong. Good on ya Burrowing Owl. — 8 years ago
Not the most complicated of wines but very approachable with lots of dark fruit to enjoy. Drinking buddy was thoroughly disappointed after his final sip since there wasn't any more. — 9 years ago
An Aussie Riesling that I, a Canadian Riesling “freak,” can happily knock back. Too bad we couldn’t arrange an on-the-spot tasting at the winery the other day. — 7 years ago
For an '08, this Syrah still showed nice hallmarks: nose, fruit, balance, body and finish. Only bottle we have, but I'd grab another. — 8 years ago
10 years on, didn't know what to expect. Nicely surprised by good structure, balance and dark fruit. — 9 years ago
Nicely surprised by the complexity and bold fruit that remained after nearly a decade. Wishing we had more of this still hanging around. No question that this BC wine could handle some ageing. — 9 years ago

Very pleasantly surprised. Still wonderful balance of tannin, fruit & acidity. Telling that this was an Aussie Syrah (and not Shiraz). Can’t think of anything to detract (except that I had to share with two others). — 6 years ago
