After two bottles of an inexpensive, Spanish red (inexpensive but good), came across this gem hiding on a shelf amongst some bottles of some not so fine vino. A very pleasant surprise and a great way to finish the night. Massive, dark fruit, ripe tannins and a lingering finish that went on for miles. Blueberry notes really stand out. Outstanding. — 9 years ago

I have yet to be impressed with Frontenac. Being from New York State, it is a grape that I often come across but it always leaves me looking for more. This wine does offer a nice balance with the fruit and some strong tannins muscle through, offering a bit of character. My first taste of VT vino. — 10 years ago

Took an hour to really open up and begin to express itself. Black licorice, plum, dark fruit that balances out the heat. Nice earth notes come through mid palate. I really enjoyed this — 9 years ago

Tobacco, deep, rich fruit and a Bordeaux style earth tone that was very appealing. This wine rocks. 14.7% alcohol but very well balanced. Will require future bottles to truly appreciate the depth of this wine. — 9 years ago

2013 vintage. Rich, red fruit with backbone capable of supporting the substantial spice, coffee and chocolate notes. Sumptuous and sexy. So well balanced it is difficult to find fault. 95% Syrah; 5% Grenache — 10 years ago

Beyond description. The 04 vintage is where it's at. Sure, 2005 was massive but so was the fruit. It was short lived in terms of aging. 2004 allowed for character and depth and flavor of fig, bright red fruit and spice. This wine has another half decade or more before it really comes alive. Honestly, it blew my mind. — 9 years ago

A very pleasant escape from the new style fruit bomb Syrah based pinots that have overwhelmed the market. A hint of smoke balances nicely with red fruit. Some mineral undertones. Yeah, even a touch of chocolate in there. It continues to open up. Not just a good NY Pinot noir but simply a fine Pinot all around. I dig it. — 10 years ago

2013 vintage. New world attempt at old world while maintains the best of both. A wine that held back. It's coy. Playful without being abrupt. Subtle and shy. — 10 years ago
