Still very primary. Good balance of sweet black and blue fruits with black olive, oregano, and smoked meat notes. Has a little whiff of barnyard funk. Full body, subtle but well-integrated tannins, and vibrant acidity. Will need to find more bottles to see how this evolves over time. — 7 years ago
Delicious burst of tart raspberries, cherries, cola and spice. As the wine opens there are notes of lavender, vanilla, and purple flowers. Juicy, good structure and a very pleasant finish. — 7 years ago
PnP. Plenty of ripe black fruits with some dried fig, bramble, graphite, and a hint of white pepper on the nose. Black fruits confirmed on the palate, blackberry, black cherry, some spice on the finish. Smoooooth tannins, well-integrated and overall a very balanced wine with medium plus body and finish. First foray into Ribera del Duero, won’t be my last. — 7 years ago
Beautiful aromas of mixed berries, violets, and perfume. Small amount of funk. Great acidity and mouthfeel with silky tannins. Personally I enjoy the Antle Vineyard Mourvèdre more but this is still quite delicious. — 7 years ago
PnP at a friend's house. Wonderful nose of blackberry, black currant, dried blueberries, cedar, eucalyptus, and tobacco that keeps intensifying with time in the glass. Full body with fully-integrated tannins and a long complex finish that fluctuates between black fruits, organic earth, and eucalyptus. Everything about this wine is in perfect harmony right now but it still has plenty of life left. — 7 years ago
Slightly muted at first, but as it opened in the glass developed golden apple, lemon, and a touch of salinity. Some tropical notes including pineapple and star fruit on a long finish. — 7 years ago
Double decanted about 3 hours before serving, and already as I was decanting the smell was intoxicating. Layers of sweet balsamic, tar, dried cherries, dried roses, and leather overlying chestnuts and baking spice. Tannins are grippy but well-integrated and nicely balance the acidity. The finish is long and ends on the balsamic and sweet nutty flavors including shaved almond and chestnut. In its drinking window now but will likely shine in another 10-15 years. — 7 years ago
Lovely aromas of blackberry, blood orange, cedar, leather, and fresh-cut purple flowers jump right out of the glass. Nice concentration, but what's most striking is the incredible elegance of this wine the palate. The wine has moderate complexity, which ends on a combination of sweet black fruits and citrus on the finish. This is a delicious zin with a good life ahead of it.

Notes of dark fruits, tobacco, spice, orange peel, and a touch of bacon fat. Not terribly complex but very enjoyable and drinking well now. — 7 years ago

Layers of sweet blackberry, boysenberry, cassis, vanilla cream and mint with undertones of licorice and black pepper. Tannins are already well-integrated and mellow out a bit after an hour in the glass. Vibrant acidity that balances out the alcohol well. Such a stunning wine! — 7 years ago
